Ford Repair: 95 Ford Taurus Heater Core, ford taurus, heater core

Question
Hello...I need some information on replacing a heater core... I'm having a hard
time getting to it and do you need to discharge the a/c?  Any information on this
will be greatly appreciated.   (There is steam that smells like anti-freeze coming
out of defrost vents)  Also, installing a new one instructions.  Thank You very
much Dan

Answer
I don't have detailed instructions to offer you, try the public library for a manual for your vehicle.

I can tell you the instrument panel has to come out to access the heater case, the air conditioning has to be emptied/reclaimed, then you can remove the case to replace the heater core. In a shop you are looking at somewhere in the range of six (6) hours labor to replace the heater core.
