Ford Repair: Engine Coolant Temperature Switch, coolant temperature switch, engine coolant temperature

Question
Can you tell me where the Engine Coolant Temperature Switch is located on a 2001 Ford Escape V6 3.0L. I have a cold engine stalling problem but once it gets warmed up, it's fine except the engine seems to be hotter then normal. I tried everything like changing the plugs, EGR, Dpfe sensor, Idle air control valve and still no luck. Also, can you tell me how do you know if your PCM is bad, like what kind of symtoms. I know there was a recall for this but not for mine. I don't think those cooling fans are working also. I believe the Engine Coolant Temperature Switch is throwing the PCM or computer off, but if you could tell me where it is that would be great. Thanx

Answer
Sounds like you have spent enough money, why not get it checked for codes before spending any more? Haven't seen temp sensors cause problems, and PCMs extremely rarely need replacing. There are no symptoms indicating a bad PCM. The only ones I have had to replace were because of not starting.

I suggest some professional diagnosis before spending more money needlessly.
