Ford Repair: loss of power, alternater, ford explorer

Question
i was driving a 91 ford explorer and it lost all power and was not accelerating at all.  i had to drive home on side streets and could not get past 30 mph.  It was fine when i got it and now i am stumped.  then i parked at my complex it just died and wont restart.  that i think is the battery but the truck has a new alternater and radiator and belt.
Any help would be nice....Thanx

Answer
If the battery was going dead it will cause the engine to lose power and eventually stall, not restart.

Your question is kinda confusing, tho. Does the engine not crank over, or crank and not start? Explorers have many fuel pump problems, which could be the cause of a no start, but I wouldn't condemn the pump with checking fuel pressure.

If the battery is dead then that is a different problem.
