Ford Repair: 1995 Ford Taurus Wagon intermittently not starting, ford taurus, taurus wagon

Question
I first got this car and since I've had it I've had problems with the car not starting. It used to be about once every three months that I would go to start my car and it would sound like it was going to start but then wouldn't turn over. Usually I would let it sit for a day or two and then it would start up again. But now this is happening all the time. Sometimes the car will start fine, then other times it won't turn over. The problem seems to have no correlation with the time of day or how many times it's been started that day and no correlation with rain or weather. I've had the fuel pump replaced but this hasn't made a difference. Help!

Answer
So does it not turn over or not start? This is a problem with communication most techs run into all the time. Some folks say it won't start but don't know the difference between not starting and not cranking.

Have you checked the battery, connections, that stuff to make sure it isn't just dirty connections? Many times when a battery starts to have problems it will crank sometimes and not others.

Checking for codes is always a good idea, too, could lead to something related. Another thing to verify is if it is losing spark or fuel pressure. Again it depends on the no start or no crank question.
