Ford Repair: supercharged 1991 mustang, aluminum drive shaft, vortech supercharger


Question
i have a 1991 mustang gt.it has a vortech supercharger and boosting around 10-11psi.but i think its lacking exhaust??? beside the charger it has equal length shorty headers 21/2inch off-road x pipew/cats going into stock mufflers.i think the tale pipes are 21/2inch im not sure.i recently purchased the car this way and have done nothing to it.it also has ford motorsportcobra disc brake packagew/bigger front rotors and calipersw/5 lugs im preaty sure it has gears but im not really sure.aluminum drive shaft and world class trans.msd boost retard.what kind of exaust should i put but not to loud and i dont want cats.what ignition timing and fuel pressure should i have at idle it also has a gauge.

  If you've got the money, the only exhaust I'd go with is Bassanni.  All of their stuff sounds incredible...but it's a bit pricey.  On more of a budget I like MAC Flowpaths, but muffler sound is really an individual taste.  As for the timing and fuel pressure, I'd set base timing around 12 degrees or so and let the boost retard take care of the rest.  At idle, fuel pressure in a boosted car doesn't really change much over a non-boosted car.  I'd keep it between 30-35psi or so.  Hope this helps.
