Ford Repair: 95 mustag, valve motor, pc processor

Question
I have a 95 mustang and would like to do an engine swap. I was wondering if it matters what year of engine i use. I have some different people with different engines, one has a five litre and i was wondering how hard it is to put that in and if you thought i should do it, as well , i was wondering how much work is involved in changing it from automatic, to standard.
Also I can get my hands on a 2005 Gt 4.6 ad was wondering if that would go in. what would u suggest.

Answer
Tyler-

Well, your car already has a 5.0L motor (if it's a GT) so a 5.0L swap is no big deal.  If it's a V6 some other things will need to be swapped as well, but it's fairly minimal.  Things become more complicated if you use a 4.6L motor (either the '96-'04 versions of the newer 3 valve motor), but it's still not incredibly difficult.  Honestly, I wouldn't even attempt an '05 4.6L swap unless you have some serious cash and time on your hands.  Dimensionally they're almost identical to the older 4.6L motors, but there is SIGNIFICANT differences in the hardware used to hook everything together...things like instead of a throttle cable, it uses "drive by wire".  Not to mention the car's computer is complicated enough to give the beefiest desktop PC processor envy.  Hope this helps.
