Ford Repair: 5.0 HO Swap, wiring harnesses, trans work

Question
My son has a 95 Mustang with a 3.8 V6.  Rod bearsing are toast.  Yesterday we purchased a 5.0 HO motor from a 95 Mustang.  Question 1.  Will the AODE trans work with the 5.0 HO? (I think it must have been a 5 spd car since the end of the crank has the bearings that are not there with an automatic) Question 2. With the motor we got the computer and wiring harnesses..Can we just swap the computer, or do we need to swap the harnesses? Are the connectors on the ECM the same or are there sensors on the block that will require the 5.0 harness?  What's the difference between 5.0 and 5.0 HO  Thanks

Answer
Chris-

Honestly, I don't know for a fact if the V6 AODE will bolt up to a 5.0 motor.  My guess off the top of my head would be no, but it might be worth looking into.  You'd at least have to change the bellhousing.  Yes, the wiring harness will need to be swapped with the new computer.  The pin connectors are the same, but the location of some of the sensors are different as are some of the sensor connectors.  To be honest, there really isn't a 5.0L and 5.0L HO motor.  There's a 302 and a 5.0L HO.  Both are the same displacement but the 5.0L carries the name so you can tell apart the tiny differences.  The only real difference is that the 5.0L uses the same cam base circle as a 351W while the 302 uses the regular 302 base circle.  Pretty much everything else is interchangeable.  Hope this helps.
