Ford Repair: battery draining, ford ranger, auto zone

my 96 ford ranger died while driving and it turned out the battery was totally drained. i replaced the alternator and battery, the battery will not hold a charge. do i have a short or maybe a bad alternator? how do i tell? it ran as if i never replaced a thing

In order to have the battery tested, and alternator you can check with auto zone, they should test it for free. Also double check and make sure you hooked up everything right, with the alternator.. Make sure also your connections, are good cleaned and tight... Thanks...
