Can see coolant leak coming from passenger side of engine, but hard to find source.  I changed the water pump last year, so I am familiar with the basics.  This is not a hose as far as I can tell.  The source seems to be in a central location that is very difficult to see. The van overheats after driving about 5 miles.  Transmission has been slipping for a month or so.
I suspect the problem may be related to the transmission because oily residue is seen in coolant at radiator cap, and light brown watery look is seen at end of transmission dip stick.
It is a Windstar 3.8 with 145K mileage.

Sounds to me you may have a blown head gasket. If your leaking coolant it will also show up in the engine crankcase.. I hope this somewhat helps ... Ty

Thanks, Ty.  Since I sent the info, I have found the coolant is leaking from the timing belt cover gasket.  I decided to try J-B Weld, just to see if I get lucky.  Waiting till tomorrow for it to dry.  Also, a friend says the transmission cooling system (in or near radiator) probably needs to be replaced.  So, there's where I am now.  Again, thank you.
I welcome any comments you may have.

Answer
You shouldnt be leaking any coolant from the timing belt cover, unless the water pump is close to that area and its leaking down there. You should inspect the transmission lines/cooler to the radiator, if they are leaking alot then yes, they will need to be replaced. If the threads are leaking you can get some pipe thread and wrap this on the threads and reinstall. Hope this also helps... Ty
