Ford Repair: Mustang Mach 460 Sound System, ford mustang coupe, stero systems

Question
Do you know if a 99 Ford Mustang Coupe Mach 460 Sound Bar w/Amps is the same system that was used in a 1997 Mustang?  Or is it compatible enough to use in a 1997 Mustang?

  Stereo systems were never really my thing, but I'll give it a shot.  To my knowledge you could modify the Mach 460 system to fit fairly easily if you know what you're doing, but it wouldn't just drop right in.  Mainly because the Mach 460 setup wasn't around in '97 (at least I'm fairly sure it didn't come along until '99).  But stero systems are pretty universal so you could just use it as an upgrade to the '97 car's system.  Hope this helps.
