Ford Repair: Ford F150 fuel pump, fuel pressure guage, fuse panel

Question
I have a 1998 F150 4x4 with 5.4 engine long box standard cab
I have had trouble engine stoped on the highway twice and had it
towed both times the repair shop found nothing wrong I now have
it home and it will not start checked the fuse and relay seem OK
The fuel pump was replace about 4 years ago (had same
symptoms) how do I check if it is the pump or is electrical?

Answer
Most Ford products the fuel pump can be heard, when you first turn the key on it should run for several seconds, makes a whirring or humming noise. Otherwise a fuel pressure guage is needed to check fuel pressure.

The best thing to do is get it checked for codes in the system.  Another problem these trucks had was water leaking from the top left of the windshield, and making it's way to the fuse panel. This would either short out some circuits or cause a corrosion in the connector or GEM module, which is mounted on top of the fuse panel. This will usually result in several electrical problems, one of which is stalling or not starting.
