Question -
IN MY 1989 FORD BRONCO II THE POWER WINDOWS BEGAN WORKING INTERMITANTLY SO WINDOWS ARE STUCK IN WHAT EVER POSITION I CAN GET THEM TO WHILE THEY WORK. I'VE CHECKED THE CIRCUT BREAKER AT DRIVERS DOOR IT IS VERY HOT. THE LUMBAR CONTROLS ON DRIVERS SEAT ALSO DO NOT WORK.  DO YOU HAVE ANY INFO ON HOW TO FIND THE SHORT IN THIS CIRCUT?
I HAVE AN AUTO START  INSTALLED THAT ALSO HAS BEGAN ACTING ERRATICALY. DURING THIS SAME PERIOD
Answer -
Terry, the first thing I would tell you to do is get rid of that autostart system. Too many times they are installed incorrectly or something is hooked up wrong and cause problems. You need to eliminate that system so you know for sure it is not the problem. The only reason the circuit breaker would be hot is if you repeatedly tried working the windows, or their is a dead short in that circuit. Has the battery gone dead yet? Finding a short is not something I can describe here. Basically it involves isolating portions of the circuit until you find an area that affects the short.

Answer
Good job, Terry. At least you didn't have to remove your remote start. As we say in the shop, NICE FIND!

Sorry to be jaded about the remote gadgets, I have a definite dislike of anything added-on because of all the problems I have seen. Especially electrical stuff.
