Ford Repair: cruise control, vehicle speed sensor, ford f150

Question
The cruise control in my 1999 Ford f150 has stopped working. I have checked the fuse, it was good. What else could cause it to stop working?

Thank you for your Time,

Answer
There are many things that can cause the cruise to not work. Check your brake lights, if they don't work the cruise won't either. The vehicle speed sensor, if it is not working, will do the same. Has the CEL or overdrive light either one come on recently? If you can get the codes that will help narrow it down. Otherwise you need a scanner to test the system.

How about the air bag light? Is it blinking or staying on? There could be a problem in the steering column clockspring, which the speed control and air bag systems both use.
