Ford Repair: STARTER MOTER, fuel pump relay, cable insulation

Question
IF THE STARTER IS BAD WILL IT STILL TRY TO TURN OVER BUT WOUNT START THE CAR

Answer
Yes it can do that (crank) but it will normally crank the engine very slowly when it's bad enough to prevent starting. That can happen but it's not as common as the other things I'm going to suggest to you.
As a suggestion if your starter is turning normally - try swapping the fuel pump relay  with another relay if you can find a relay box under the hood and can find one that has matching pins. That is a more common reason for not starting.  Next, look under the edge of the insulation on your battery cables at the battery - do you see any slight swelling under the insulation or do you see green corrosion leaking out under the cable insulation? If so, you need to replace the cable(s). The battery cables can corrode under the insulation where you can't see it and this usually occurs where they connect to the battery.
YOu didn't say how old your car was so I don't know if you have a fuel pump relay or not. If you do - that would be my #1 first thing to check or replace.

This is my last post on this forum so you won't be able to ask me further questions - just keep in mind a car needs fuel and a normal speed spinning starter for the engine to start up. If the starter seems okay - look at the fuel system. If the starter is slow, check the cables for corrosion and try charging the battery or take it to a parts store like Pep Boys to get it checked.

Best of Luck,
Dennis
