Ford Repair: AutoHeadlite Sensor, ford explorer sport trac, ford explorer sport

Question
2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac, 4.0 v-6 gasoline engine, automatic transmission.  The autoheadlite on/off sensor located on the top right side of the dash just under the windshield has fallen down inside of the dash and is not functioning.  My question:  What is the easiest way to retrieve the sensor and remount it in it's mounting hole?  The mounting hole is actually a part of a plastic cover containing the windshield defroster vents.  Does this plastic cover snap in and out--I don't want to break it.

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
I've looked in all of the service manuals and information I have on line, and I can't come up with a bloody thing to help you. I would strongly suggest that you take it to the local Ford dealership and have it repaired.
