Ford Repair: V-10 overheating, radiator shop, fan clutch

Question
Ford Triton 1999 V-10
This engine is overheating and shutting down cylinders. Water pump is good, replaced thermostat and flushed old cooolant. What gives?

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
I would check a few things:
1. Flow test the radiator....take it out and have a radiator shop do it.
2. Have the engine checked for head gasket leakage problems
3. Check the hoses....make sure they aren't collapsing.
4. Check the fan clutch..make sure it locks up when the system gets hot, and make sure it cycles.

Last but not least.....you MIGHT want to try a different thermostat. Remember......New, DOES NOT MEAN, good.
