Ford Repair: fuel filter removal, safety clips, fuel filter

I have a 98 Ford explorer and am trying to replace the fuel filter. I purchased the removal tool but do not know how to use it. Please advise.

Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
Remove the fuel filter from the holder.
1 Disconnect the fuel lines.
To do this......remove the safety clips on either end of the filter. Now use the tool to release the fingers that lock the line to the filter.
2 Remove the fuel filter from the fuel filter support.
INSTALLATION
Install the fuel filter.
1 Position the fuel filter in the fuel filter support.
2 Install the fuel lines
