Ford Repair: 99 Expo Anti freeze leek, head gasket, erik m

Question
This seems like it should be simple, but it's beating me up.  I have a 99 Expedition with the 5.4 V8.  Anti freeze started pouring out the back of the engine.  I've been trying to chase the source of the leak with no luck.  After hunting for a while, it looks like it is leaking under the lower intake manifold.  I pulled the alternator to try to get a better look, but I still can't see where it starts.  I dried the area off to see if it was coming from the water pump area or farther back under the intake.  It does seem to be coming from under the intake.  I can see most of the heads through the intake and it doesn't seem to be a head gasket.  I don't see that it is coming from the intake gasket but I can't really see all around.  I've used a mirror where I can but still no luck.  There is a metal tube that goes under the intake that comes out of the water pump housing.  What I can see or get my hands on seems to be ok.  My next step is to pull the intake.  What do you think?  Any help you can provid will be much appreciated.

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
You can locate the leak one of two ways:
1. Add dye to the coolant and get a black light.
2. Pressurize the system and look for the leak.

Find the leak FIRST.....don't rip anything off with out knowing where you are headed.
