Ford Repair: 1993 Ford Mustang, oil drain plug, ford mustang

Question
4 cly.

Yesterday I was driving in the heat with the ac on and everything was fine.  I stopped to fill up with gas from there is about a five minute drive to my house.  About half way home at a stop light the engine started to lose rpm's, the radio bacame static and the cool are started to stop flowing.  The light turn and as I stepped on the gas everything began to run ok.  At the next intersection as I turned into my neighborhood, everything starte to die off again until I gave the engine gas.  As I approached the stop sign in front of my house the engine went off and would not restart.  My first thought was the battery died so I push the car into the driveway and pulled my van to the car and gave it a hot shot.  The car started I was able to turn it around and bring it into the driveway.  The battery is five years old and I figuered with the heat and all the accessories running it just died.  However, I then notice a puddle at the end of the driveway which appears to be oil.  I check the oil and it is down 1 and half quart.  Antifreeze level is fine and the trans fluid is fine.  Under the car near the oil drain plug I can see where oil is dripping above and to the rear of the oil pan.

I started the car last night and let it run to heat the engine and looked for leaks.  I noticed that the fan did not come on.  Is it possible that the fan motor is out and the engine overheated causing oil to leak?  Or is there some other reason the engine shut down?  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks for your help.

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
I think you have a few problems to look in to.
I would suggest you have the charging system checked out.
I would suggest that you identify the oil leak.....IF an engine is THAT hot to boil the oil.....the engine is cooked and done.
