Ford Repair: Car quits running, ford mustang, diagnostic routine

Question
Hi Erik

I have a 95 ford mustang GT 5.0 standard trans. The car quits when it gets hot. Once it quits it has no spark. Most of the time it will start when it cools down but not always. I have replaced the ICM &  Ingnition Coil but it still does the same thing. I was thinking the computer next. I did put a diablo chip in the computer about 2 years ago and was wondering if that could be the problem. If it is the computer how do I check and what do I do to replace it. Is their any special thing to do to before the install or check it? Thanks for your help.

Ken

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
Before you go replacing anything..have the computer system checked for fault codes and THEN identify the codes and go through the diagnostic routine for each of the fault codes. Also.....I would contact the maker of the chip that you installed and inquire IF it would affect the ignition of the vehicle.
