Ford Repair: ESCAPE OIL LIGHT, oil pressure sending unit, sensor light

Question
2003 FORD ESCAPE - OIL SENSOR LIGHT IS ON. CHECKED OIL, OIL LEVEL IS FINE. LAST OIL CHANGE ABOUT 4 MONTHS AGO. I STILL HAVE 1500 MILES UNTIL NEXT SCHEDULED OIL CHANGE.
I JUST TURNED OVER 26,000 MILES. COULD THIS BE THAT THE OIL SENSOR NEEDS POSSIBLE RESET. IF SO HOW IS THAT DONE?

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
First...let me suggest that you change your oil. I tell my customers to change it EVERY 3000 miles or every 3 months......which ever comes first!
There is no reset procedure that I know of or can find. If the light is on....from what I can see/tell it is time to replace the oil pressure sending unit. It is located on the right hand side of the engine (passenger side) behind the AC compressor.
