Ford Repair: Ford mustang problems, repoir, ford mustang

Question
I have a 2001 (V6) Ford Mustang that I am taking into the shop tomorrow.  Whenever I am a light or idling it sputters for a few seconds then dies, also when driving it only feels like it's running at half power.  It's almost as though it's not getting enought gas.  I'm new in town and the don't have a repoir with the mechanic so I'm afraid of getting ripped off (I'm a poor college student and have little money).  I want to ask the right questions and use the right terms so he thinks I have at least a basic understanding of what's wrong and will be less likely to rip me off.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
I would suggest that you ask the mechanic/garage to do a few things:
Check the computer system for fault codes.
Check the fuel pressure

Give them as much of detailed account of what's going on with your vehicle.
Also, IF you don't feel comfortable with the mechanic or the garage...LEAVE! Find a place that is good with customer relations and will take the time to explain things to you.
