Ford Repair: 2000 Explorer starting problem, throttle position sensor, ford explorer

Question
We have a 2000 Ford Explorer.  When we try to start it, we need to step on the accelerator to get the engine to turn over.  It turns over and sounds normal, but as soon as we take our foot off the accelerator, the engine dies.  We have tried holding the accelerator down for several seconds, thinking maybe it just needed to "warm up," but as soon as we release the accelerator, it dies again.  Do you think it might be the fuel filter?  If so, where is it located, and is it difficult to replace?  Thanks!

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
It's not the fuel filter. Your problem lies with in the computer system...I would look more closely at the TPS (throttle position sensor). Have the computer system checked for faults and go from there.
