Ford Repair: 92 Topaz, fuel pressure gauge, coil cable

Hi, my sons 92 Topaz won't start. He says it turns over but won't fire. It's a standard shift, 4cyl. Thanks

Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
Your son needs to check for a few things. First have him check for spark. With a helper have him remove the ignition coil cable and have the helper crank it over.....he should see spark jumping from the coil tower. If not, he's got an ignition problem.
Next, check for fuel pressure......with the helper again........when the key is turned on, he should be able to hear the fuel pump cycle to pressurize the system......if not......he sould get a fuel pressure gauge and physically check the pressure.
