Ford Repair: Pony overheating, carbuerator, spacers

Question
I have a 1966 Mustang that the engine was recently rebuilt professionally. Before the rebuild it ran cool, but since it overheats when idling for a period of time or is traveling on the highway at 60 mph. It has factory air and the original radiator. A mild racing cam was installed at rebuild and a 4-barrel manifold and carb was added. Any thoughts?";

Answer
Doug,

Check the obvious things, such as hoses, radiator, thermostat. Also make sure that you have the correct thermostat in your car. It should be 175-180. Are you positive that it is overheating? It could be that your fuel is boiling in the carbuerator and vapor locking. If this is the case, you will need to put one or two spacers under the carbuerator.
