Ford Repair: car shuts off, mazda 626, ford probe

Hello I have a Mazda 626 '93 but its enigine is the same as the ford probe '93 so I figured you may be able to help.  Well first of all its a v6 auto transmission.  My problem is that when I drive my car for over and hour the engine will began to turn off, then it will start back up all while driving.  Orginally I thought it was the fuel pump but after thinkin about it I feel that thats not the problem because it will run fine if I let sit for a while.  Could you help me with this problem thank you

Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
What I would suggest is two things:
First....check the air snorkle inbetween the air filter box and throttle body.......for cracks/rips. Repalce it if it is damaged.
Second.....have the computer system checked for fault codes and go from there.
