Ford Repair: 1995 Ford Aerostar van steering wheel, ford aerostar van, power steering rack

Hello, I have a 1995 Ford Aerostar van, 4.0L,Automatic transmission.  The steering wheel switches (horn, cruise control) don't work.  Also the airbag warning light keeps blinking every few seconds (the van is equipped with an airbag system).  I have checked the fuses and they are all okay.  Everything else works great.  What could be the problem?  The electrical has never been worked on but I did have the power steering assemby and the whole front end repaired and when I picked it up this started happening.  They assured me that they never did anything with the electrical.  Also they were highly qualified mechanics.  Please advise me with any information you can give me.  Thanks.

Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
It is most likely that they didn't do anything electrical.....BUT what might of happened is that if the power steering rack was repaced, they might of let the steering wheel turn accidentally. This would cause the clock spring asym., located under the steering wheel, to snap and lose it's connections.
