Ford Repair: 1996 Escort cooling fan, amp fuse, fan 96

Question
96 Escort with a 92 1.9 engine replacement, AT, 89,000 miles, Cooling fan spins for a split second upon startup, then stops, Temp gauge does not move at all after car is at running temp. Have changed temp sensor & 40 amp fuse to no avail. I am tool challenged ! Help ! What else can I check before sending to the Mechanic for $$$.

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
Since you are tool challenged and you've replaced the temp sending unit.........all I could suggest is that you replace the thermostat (to make sure the engine IS getting to proper temp).........then IF that doesn't work, bring it to a garage.
