Ford Repair: BEST A/C UNIT AND INSTALLATION, ford mustang, honest company

Question
Hi Ken

My dearly wife just bought me a 1966 Ford Mustang Convertible with a 289 engine. For my 65 birthday. She bought in on E-bay. The car doesn't have A/C. Its has P/S.

The car didn't arrive as of YET. Its coming from: Delaware to Las Vegas.

You gota see this car. Its Tale inside and out. No rust,No dings, top is white and in very, very good condition.

Its from a very honest company. My wife checked them out with the BETTER BUS.BUR.

QUESTIONS: Do I buy an original A/C or something you recommend?
Where would I buy such a unit for the car ?

Lastly, How hard is it to intall ? I have a friend who is pretty good as a mechanic. And I'm not bad myself too.

I've seen the A/C from other '66 'stang A/C they go right under the dash as a extention kind of.

PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT ALL THIS?

THANK YOU KEN
GOD BLESS

Answer
Ray,

Happy birthday! Sounds like a sweet car. You have the option of getting the A/C from Mustangs Unlimited (www.mustangsunlimited.com) or contact Classic Auto Air (813-251-2356 or 813-251-4994). They will have the stuff than you need to get A/C in your new baby. As for installation difficulty, it is pretty involved but if you take your time and follow the instructions that will come with the A/C you should not have any trouble. If you do hit a snag, let me know and I'll help you out. Oh yeah, with a birthday present like that, you better take extra special care of your wife! Sounds like you have a gem! Again, Happy Birthday.

Ken

PS: When you get the car, if you take any pics, I would love to see the car. You can send the pics to: pnycoral@localnet.com
