Ford Repair: 1994 Ford Ranger 2.3 Liter 4 cylinder AT, camshaft position sensor, exhaust stroke

Question
Thanks in advance for any advice you can give. I was in an intersections and my engine just stopped. I had it towed home and it turned out the timing belt had broken some teeth off and the crankshaft was just spinning. During the troubleshooting to determined this when I was deperately checking everything for something simple I had verified that the engine had spark to the plug. I disassembled and replaced the belt. I set the timing according to the haynes and Chilton's manuals and verified that cylinder # 1 piston was in its highest position, Crankshaft at TDC at that point and matched the mark on the camshaft just like the manual. I spun the crankshaft by hand a couple of times to make sure these settings stayed put. I reassembled and now when I crank the engine (it still won't start) but now it has NO SPARK. What could I have done? I checked the condition of the Camshaft Position sensor and cleaned it and it seems fine. One basic question nags me. If I had that crankshaft stroke at TDC on the exhaust stroke instead of Compression would that keep me from having any spark at all which is my condition now?
(once again not the case before I replaced the belt there was spark there) Please give me any suggestions you can think of and Thanks again

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
you should still have spark. It might be at the wrong time.......but you should still have it. I hate to say this but recheck and verify your work.

If that is correct.....I would start an ignition system diagnosis.......and also, have the computer system checked for fault codes.
Hope this helps,
