Ford Repair: Air Condition problem, slow leak, correct position

Question
-IT did the same thing last summer and I recharge it by adding the charge using the low pressure port until the gauge reads 35-40 lbs. There must be a slow leak. This year I added a small can of sealer with die so maybe i can see where the leak is. Thic charge will last most of the summer but as I said it will only work on the Max air setting. During the winter I will get heat from the heat setting but again only Max heat, no temp control. It gets hot and I open a window.

Thanks,
Tom

Hi Erik,
I have a 1997 Ford Exployer, I recharged the AC and it is full and works just great on Max air setting however, when I switch the setting to "normal" AC it starts to blow hot air. The temp setting knob for warmer or cooler air does not work at all. The AC will only give cold air in the MAX setting and in any other setting including heat all I get is very hot air, no control over hot air, it is all or nothing.

Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
How did you recharge the system and WHY did you have to recharge it?
Erik

First off.... FIND and REPAIR the leak. Then it would seem that you have a blend door control problem............most likely the motor on the evaporator case is bad and not moving the door to the correct position.
