Ford Repair: fuel, dual overhead cam, ford taurus

Question
i have a 98 ford taurus with a 3.0 dual overhead cam,  24 valve,  and am having a problem with this car that i cant figure out after i have traveled about 300 miles and am going up a hill and am giving the car gas,  it just seems as if though the car is not getting any.  if i step on the gas ever so lightly the car seems to be fine.  i just cant step on it,  and on some hills i just cant make it,  so i pull over to the side and shut the car off for about 5 minutes and the car is fine for any where between 50 and a hundred miles and it starts up again. is this a sensor problem or is it my ECM?

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
I would suggest a few things:
1. Have the transmission looked at.
2. Have the computer system checked for fault codes.
3. Look in to the tune up condition of the engine, overall.

Hope this helps,
Erik
