Ford Repair: Day time lights will not turn off, ford taurus, 1999 ford taurus

I have a 1999 Ford Taurus se wagon. Recently the dayatime  lights started to flash. Now they will not turn off.  Which in turn runs down the battery.  Is there a way of disconnecting the daytime lights or is this a bigger problem?

Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
It can be a simple reprogramming of the GEM (generic electronic module) OR a bigger problem. I don't know of any way to disconnect them to shut them off. I would suggest that you bring it to a garage for diagnosis and repair.
