Ford Repair: studs and lugs, wheel disc brakes, wheel disk brakes

Question

I have 4 wheel disk brakes, and I think they are all anti lock brakes. I do know that the emergency brake is on the back brake.

I BROKE MY STUDS ON THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE, on my 2002 Ford Explorer, and I want to change the studs myself. What do I need to do, and take off, to get the studs out, and what tools do I need?

Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
Does your explorer have 4 wheel disc brakes OR are there drums in the rear? Is it anti lock brakes OR just rear anti lock?

Hello and thanks for the reply...I'll try to help.
What you will need to do it remove the wheel and support the vehicle on jack stands. The remove the caliper and caliper mounting bracket. Then remove the rotor. You can then take a hammer and bang out the broken stud. To install the new one, you will need to rent a special tool from your local auto supply store.......a stud installer. Reverse the removal precedure and you should be all set.
Hope this helps,
Erik
