Ford Repair: A/C comp oil service, reed valves, suction side

Question
97 Taururs A/C compressor failed. New one to go on.  Flushed, changed orfice, and drier. Servicing the comp the book says 7 oz oil PAG.  Measured acuatlly by weight in a clean drinking cup about 1/2 full.  Can't get it all in though the suction side even after turning it through by hand.  It is full and runing out after maybe 2 1/2 oz.  What is the best method to servise the F15? Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
You should be able to suck the rest of the oil in after the system is evacuated and the is a vacuum in the system. This should be done on the low side. Also, you might want to go over the directions that came with the AC compressor........I think you'll find that you shouldn't fill it.......it will cause the reed valves to break and ruin the compressor.
Hope this helps,
Erik
