Ford Repair: Thermostat running hot and more, electric cooling fan, ford explorer

Question
I have a 2001 Ford Explorer.  Just yesterday it all started.  The thermostat needle is registering hot and the truck is also cutting out at some points and at other times (within a matter of minutes of each other)is running "too much power".

Answer
Dawn,
If the vehicle is running hot, then I would suggest flushing out your cooling system, and changing the thermostat. Also once the vehicle warms, up make sure the electric cooling fan is coming on. If it doesnt either the motor is bad or a bad relay.. Thanks.....
