Ford Repair: 512 kam failure valves rattling, losing connection, tappets

i have a 95 ford explorer 4.0 pushrod engine have a 512 code on scan tool and valves are rattling when shiftting 2nd to 3rd and od and when driving and try to speed up they rattle what might the problem be oil pressure 50 psi and engine temps normal

Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
 Try using a thicker oil ------ instead of 5w30 try using 10w40 or 15w40. You might also have tappets that are worn and need to be replaced.
Also the 512 is telling you that the KAM has failed the test. You have to find out why the battery is losing connection to the PCM. Or if the driver for the PCM has failed. It might be that the PCM needs to be replaced.
