Ford Repair: Whinning Noise, ford crown victoria, voltage problems

Question
Hi, Erik.  I own a 1992 Ford Crown Victoria 4.6L V8 that has had a little problem that hasn't been affecting the car at all, yet it is starting to happen more and more often and getting annoying.  Back in the winter time, the battery died because someone left the dome light inside the car on all night after they borrowed it.  After that, the car started to make a whinning noise that was not so loud and only lasted about five minutes (this is after I charged the battery since it is fairly new).  However, now the car is whinning even louder and it always makes this whinning noise when the car warms up.  The car runs super smooth without any vibrations and does not show any signs of the engine missing at all (it was well taken care of, especially with only 81,000 miles on it).  It sounds like the whinning noise is coming from the alternator, yet I haven't had any voltage problems with the car.  Can you help me out here?  Thank you in advance.

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
What I would suggest is that you take the drive belt off and inspect all of the pulleys. If a bearing is going bad..........it might not affect the operation of the alternator.
Hope this helps,
Erik
