Ford Repair: Alternator-1987 Ford Aerostar, ford aerostar, battery cable

Hi I have a 1987 Ford Aerostar minivan it has a3liter v6 with air. The problem is I had a bad alternator so I got a good one for it and put it on and it still shows a discharge on my amp gauge. What I am wondering now is what else to check out. Any advice you might have could possibly help not hurt. Tnaks Gary

Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
What I suggest you do is start to pull fuses with the vehicle off and the amp gage installed in between that battery post and battery cable end. You're reading shouldn't be more than .03A When you pull a fuse look at the meter......when it drops to .03 or less you have found the circuit that the draw is on.
