Ford Repair: Stalling issues, recomendations, fuel lines

Question
I have a 1985 Ford Thunder V8 automatic.  Recently it has started stalling after driving it on the road for about 5 miles and will not re-start unless it sits for a long period of time.  I have replaced the fuel filter, and have tried to clean out the fuel lines, but with no success.  Have you heard of this problem before, and do you have any recomendations?

Thanks!

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
Yes.....this is a common problem with Fords. Try looking in to the ignition system. Check for spark when it dies on you. I'm sure you'll find that the PIP and TFI have gone bye bye. Go to a parts store and get a reman distributor and install it.
Hope this helps,
Erik
