Ford Repair: 1997 ford explorer limited, lamp switch, electrical connector

Can you please tell me why when I turn my lights on my interior lights on my dash go off.  It only happens when I turn my lights on.

Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
 I would take a look at the head lamp switch as the source of the problem. They tend to over heat and melt, causing electrical problems. Also, look at the electrical connector for the switch.
