Ford Repair: Interior Lights, key pad, start car, number pad

Question
Hi. I currently am the owner of a 2002 Taurus SES.       I have a few, hopefully simple questions about my car. 1.  The interior lights in my car will sometimes not shut off. I can close the door, and the light on the dash saying that the door stays on, and the only way to shut them off is by this wierd procedure: Start car, let window down, shut car off, lock and unlock door, open, then close door, then start car again.  By then, the light would be off.   I tried looking for a switch in the door somewhere (just to see if it was stuck), but I couldn't find one.  What could be causing this problem? I guess I should add that this only happends with the drivers door.
My last question: When I got the car, it came with a little card with a code on it.  On the card it said that this was the code to unlock the door using the number pad on the door.  But here's the thing, there is no number pad.  Did Ford by chance put this in a wierd spot where the average person wouldn't think of looking, or do I just not have one at all?

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
The Key Pad ......... IF you have one is under the door handle on the outside of the car.
As far as the lights go.....it sounds like a GEM failure problem and should be taken to a dealership to be replaced/reprogrammed.
Hope this helps,
Erik
