Ford Repair: ABS LIGHT, ford mustang, barrett

Question
I have a 1997 Ford Mustang - 6 cyl./automatic/44,000 miles.  The ABS Light came on last week.  The mechanic said it was the ABS Module and costs $750.00.  Yikes!  Can I drive this car without the ABS?  It's an old car and I hate putting that kind of money in to it.

Thank you,
Miss Mick Barrett

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
Yes, it can be driven with out the ABS.........BUT....there will be things that can go wrong. The ABS will NOT function. The wheels MIGHT lock up. If, God forbid, you ARE in an accident and they inspect your car----you will be held liable for not having it working properly.
My suggestion to you is to HAVE IT PROPERLY FIXED.
Hope this helps,
Erik
