Ford Repair: 2001 Ford Taurus, mass air flow sensor, mass air flow

Question
The engine intitially turns over and the car starts but then sputters and dies.  This only happens when it's been sitting in sun.  Could it have something to do with the heat?  When it's in the garage, at night, or on a cloudy day I don't have a problem. Never dies while in motion or in idle.

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
I would suggest that you bring it to a garage and have the computer system checked for fault codes. I wouldn't be surprised to see that it has a MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor code.
Hope this helps,
Erik
