Ford Repair: 1997 For Windstar, ford windstar, head gaskets

Question
Hello, Dave here, love your link by the way. I have a 1997 Ford Windstar V6 3.8 Liter
that has check engine light on, I have taken it to a repair shop and was
told its the #5 fuel injector, so I replaced them all and did the spark
plugs, wires also replaced upper intake gaskets and check engine light
remains on. Any idea what I can do next. Im thinking about the catalytic
converter and an O2 sensor. Thank you in advance with any help you can
lean my way

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
What I would seriously take a look in to is the head gaskets. Ford has had serious problems with the 3.8L engine. It starts leaking coolant in to the engine. They kill the O2's and I would also recheck the fuel injectors........they usually do not die. It is more likely that the driver in the processor is shot and the ECM needs to be replaced.
Hope this helps,
Erik

Also, what link?
Thanks
