Ford Repair: 98 Ford Ranger Brakes, ford garage, ford ranger

Question
What would cause my Ranger's back left wheel to lockup when I first start in the morning, but after the brakes are used several times it is ok?  Also, after driving for a while the brakes make a noise and the pedal is spongy when the brakes are applied, this does not happen when the brakes are being used only after it is driven for a while without using the brakes?

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
It sounds like the system either has air in it or the ABS/RABS (AntiLock Brake System/Rear AntiLock Brake System) is activating and applying pressure to the right rear wheel.
Another possibility is that the fluid might be contaminated. I would suggest that you bring it to a Ford garage and have them check it out.
Hope this helps,
Erik
