Ford Repair: electrical faliure, inner fender, battery cables

Question
I have recently purchased an "89" full size Bronco. It still has the original EFI system on it and it does not like the water at all. This past week end we were at a mud event and on several occasions she was dowsed with water pretty good. The brite side is that siting for awhile seamed to do the trick. But finally all at once it stalled and I could not seam to get any power at all, so a tow was nessisary in the morning we looked it over pretty good and can't seam to figure it out. The question to you is are there any electrical parts that could have been damaged by the water. Thanks in advance for your attention.

Answer
Mr. Gregis,

Any electrical part under the hood can be damaged by water. On the driver's side inner fender wall, under the hood, there is an ignition module (a square metal box). I recommend checking that. There should be 4 wires coming from it that go to the distributor. Check the distributor wires and under the cap to see if anything got wet. Other than that, you will have to perform the tedious task of checking every wire under the hood, including the battery cables, wires to and from the solinoid, etc. Hope that this helps and if you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me. Good luck.
