Ford Repair: truck not firing, cam shaft position sensor, crank shaft position sensor

Question
1992 F150 4.9L Auto Trans.
Does this model have crank sensor, or cam sensor and where is it located?  Has new plugs, wires and filters was running and quit can't locate the problem. It's not firing every plug.

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
No, this engine doesn't use a crank shaft position sensor or cam shaft position sensor.
What I would suggest you do is remove the dist. cap and crank the engine over..............does the rotor move? Evenly, with no "dead" spots or lags? If it doesn't, you have a possible broken cam shaft, or a bad dist.
Next I would suggest that you might replace the TFI module. It is either located on the dist. or on a remote location to reduce heat failure. IF it is a remote location, trace the wiring from the dist., back to it. Check the firewall area and fender on the driver's side.
Hope this helps
