Ford Repair: 2000 explorer 4x4 4.0 auto AWD, auto awd, orange power

4x4 module not getting voltage to orange power feed wire fuse #15 ok . But no voltage at fuse in any ign. key position. THICK HEADED employer sent it out to an EXPERT. After 4 hrs. of trying to access 4x4 module w/a scanner to no avail[what a surprise w/no source voltage] they said they would first replace module and then go from there.My question is would'nt the ign. switch be the next logical place to check?   thanks for letting me spout off.Hate being pulled off jobs!

Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
 It would seem to me that it's pretty darn stupid to replace a part that isn't getting power it needs to work in the first place. I would trace over the power wire to the control end of it and find why it has no power.
