Ford Repair: F-150 and Lightning, lightnings, boat motor

Question
I have a 95 F-150 with a 5.8 L and I want to make the engine a
lightning to fit a certain supercharger onto it.  I don't know the
differences.  All I know is that they are both 5.8Ls.  Could you
please tell me the differences in the engines and what I would
have to do to make my engine into a Lightning engine?

Answer
Ian-

A blower for a 5.8L Lightning should fit a regular 5.8L motor, as far as I know.  I don't know much about the older 5.8L Lightnings, but it's my understanding that they were just 351 (5.8L) motors with marine (boat motor) camshafts that bumped up output slightly to 235hp or so.  They may also have different intakes, but I'm not too sure about that.  The newer factory-blown Lightnings use a completely different 5.4L motor but I don't see why an older Lightning blower wouldn't fit a normal 351 motor.  For a definitive answer, I would just contact the company that makes the blower kit and ask them.  Hope this helps.
